What does it mean

An apostrophe (') is a punctuation mark that is most commonly used to indicate the omission of letters, possession in English - for example, Janny's book, or in the case of a quotation or dialogue in literary texts.

    How to Type an Apostrophe on the Keyboard

    Using the Keyboard:

    • On most keyboards, the apostrophe is located next to the "Enter" or "Return" key.
    • To type an apostrophe, simply press this key.
    • If you have an English keyboard, press the key labeled as '.

    Using the Numeric Keypad (for Windows):

    • Hold down the "Alt" key and enter the code 39 on the numeric keypad.
    • Release the "Alt" key and the apostrophe will appear.

    On a Mac:

    Simply press the ' key (located next to the "Enter" key).
