Time is money. And when it comes to page loading speed, this is literally true. Every extra millisecond a visitor has to wait for a page to load can mean a lost conversion and a frustrated customer for your e-shop.

At ui42, we embarked on an extensive analysis, and the results speak for themselves. We looked at three years of data from our e-commerce development projects to understand how we are doing in one of the most critical indicators of online store success – website loading speed. And we have something to boast about.
ui42 Survey: We Improved Our Clients' Website Speed by Up to 27%
Our analysis is based on extensive data collected from nearly 80 client accounts in Google Analytics 4 and Matomo from the beginning of 2022 to August 2025. The results clearly show that we have achieved significant improvements for our clients.
At the beginning of 2022, the average page load time was 2.14 seconds. By August 2025, we managed to reduce it to an incredible 1.55 seconds, representing an improvement of 27.6%. This is proof that our work on technical optimization brings tangible results that have a direct impact on the success of e-shops.
What Impact Does Page Load Speed Have on Conversions and Sales in Different Industries?
Our survey only underscores what global studies show. The report "Milliseconds Make Millions" by Google informs that improving page load speed by just 0.1 seconds has a significant impact on conversions, customer satisfaction, and bounce rate.
In Retail, 0.1 seconds means an increase in conversions by up to 8.4% and average order value (AOV) by 9.2%. The most critical phase is pre-purchase and the transition from product detail to cart. If your website does not load quickly at any of these points, you are losing customers.
For the Travel industry, 0.1 seconds can bring up to 10.1% more conversions and a higher average order value by 1.9%.
And if you sell luxury goods, be careful, because customers in this segment are most sensitive to speed. An improvement of 0.1 seconds led to an increase in conversions by 3.6% and the transition from product detail to cart by up to 40.1%.
It is clear that faster pages motivate users to browse longer. In the luxury segment, the number of pages viewed per session increased by 8% and in retail by 5.2%.
However, if your page load time increases from 1 to 3 seconds, bounce rate increases by 32% and if it extends to 6 seconds, it is even 106%.
As is clearly visible, success in the online space is measured in milliseconds. Whether it's an e-shop, travel agency, or luxury brand, investing in a powerful technical solution pays off. That's why at ui42, we know that a fast and reliable website is not just a technical requirement but a strategic investment that directly affects customer satisfaction, increases conversions, and reduces bounce rate.
